Water Ch. 197 - Once In A While, When I Crack A Smile

Dorothea agrees to immunity in her exchange for her testimony against Dillon, for the false allegations, the false police report, the sex tape and its publication, trespassing as well as the assault and robbery of Beth, from back when before the twins died.

Dillon has an extensive criminal record, so with the new charges they wouldn't have to worry about him for a very long time.  Dorothea wasn't looking at any serious jail time, possibly would have walked away untouched but she knew that she made a mistake and she really was fearful of having Jon upset with her.  She would have agreed to anything, they had her so scared. She was a willing accomplice in a few crimes and connected with a convicted felon, all things Beth never knew about Dillon.  Dorothea was more than eager to testify against Dillon in exchange for her freedom.

Jon and Beth had to testify, as the sex tape played out in court.  Beth, behind Dorothea and to her left in the gallery, watched as she watched Beth and Jon make love.  It was a sweet moment for Beth, she thought it felt a little like karma was in play.  Besides the embarrassment, Beth and Jon walked out of the proceedings with their heads held high and smiles on their faces. For not only did they get justice, which was bitter sweet, they also received a restraining order against Dorothea.  She was still allowed to be a full time mother, but the children were only allowed to be with her in the SOHO apartment and when it was time for the exchange, they did it with staff.  Either Pete or Maria would be the go between, and Dorothea was not allowed on the property in New Jersey.  That was a ruling that Beth loved and that she would make everyone hold to.  She didn't want that woman anywhere around her, she didn't care if she was the kids' mother - what she has done to and against Beth makes her untrustworthy and not welcome.  As they walked down the steps of the court house, they are immediately hounded by the press.  Jon knew it was coming and had his comment already mentally prepared.  He had 8 days to get it ready and he was going to tell his side, his thoughts and his feelings on the whole matter.

"My soon to be ex wife has made some terrible mistakes, she's human.  She has been through alot over the last few months and has had to deal with some rather earth shattering news.  She is her own worst enemy and only she can fix what needs to be fixed now.  He judgement has been clouded by her mental illness and it was exacerbated by a manipulating deviant.  Dillon Adams is out of our lives and will be for a long time.  Beth and I are putting all of this behind us and moving forward.  Please leave my family alone, they all are very innocent in all of this.  And I beg you, please leave Beth alone.  As far as we are concerned, this is over.  No further comment.

Jon and Beth made their way to their waiting car.  As they sit in the backseat, waiting  for the car to pull out, they could see Dorothea with her lawyer being swarmed by reporters.  She was crying and her lawyer told them that there would be no comment from Dorothea and he ushered her into her car.

Jon and Beth arrived at the Navesink River house to find the driveway full of event trucks and people running all over the  place.  "What's going on?  Jon looks to Beth for an answer.

"They are here setting up for our ceremony." She tells him softly, with a smile on her face and her heart racing a mile a minute.

  1. In my opinion Dorothea got off easy, but I understand why Jon gave her the deal that he did. He did it for their kids.
