Water Ch. 205 - Love Me Back To Life

The helicopter ride back to New Jersey only took a few hours.  Beth wasn't feeling well, so she just leaned on Jon and tucked her hand in between her legs.  He kissed her forehead and said, "You have a slight fever, are you feeling that bad?"

"I don't feel very good." she whines to him.  "I'm not sure if it was the late run or something I ate."

He grabs her hand and holds it close to him, "Would a run give you a fever?"

"I wouldn't think so.  But those are the only two things I can think of."

"We'll get you home and in bed.  You can rest while I go get the kids."

Beth tilts her head a little to look at Jon, "I'm sorry."

"For what?" he asks her.

He puts his arm around her and holds her tight.  "For being icky on out last day away."

"Hey, don't worry about it.  I had the best time of my life on the island with you." he admits to her and she smiles.

"It was a wonderful weekend."

"We'll come back in the spring.  Maybe bring the kids.   I think they would love it.  I can see Romy going nuts over all of the horses." Jon tries to help her from not feeling bad.  He wanted to get her home and into bed.  He doesn't like that his baby didn't feel well.

With her head on his shoulder and his arm around her, Beth nods off and sleeps for the remainder of the ride.  She's startled awake when the chopper touches down.  When she sees what's going on and that she's okay, she takes a deep breath and tells Jon, "Open the door, hurry."

Jon looks at her and can see that she is going to be sick.  Whipping the door open, Beth is able to get on the ground before she gets sick.  She is so embarrassed.  Jon is behind her, rubbing her back and holding her hair.  The pilot powers everything down and gets their bags out and sets them close to them.  When Beth feels like she can walk, she heads toward the terminal at the Monmouth Executive Airport.  She gets inside and prays that there is a car waiting for her.  She had ordered one, it better be there.

Outside, the sunshine glares off the building and blinds her naked eyes.  She reaches into her handbag and pulls out her Ray Ban aviator glasses and puts them on.  The weather in New Jersey is quite a bit warmer and that pleases Beth.  She can feel that she has a fever, she has the chills and is starting to shiver.

The driver opens the door and she climbs in.  The farthest she could make it was to lay on the seat.   Jon climbed in and sat by her, with his butt hanging off the seat.  His hand on her back, rubbing it he asks her, "What can I do for you, babe?"

"Get me home, please." Jon looks at the driver and indicates that it's okay to leave.

The driver does as he's told and starts on the track to get Mr. & Mrs. Adams-Bongiovi home.

When they arrived at the house, it was dark.  Jon was glad to see that no one was there.  Not one single light was on and not one car in the driveway.

Jon gets out of the car and reaches for his 'brides' hand and helps her out of the car.  He can see that she isn't any better, if anything she is getting worse.  Her skin was pale and she had little to no energy.  He had to help her walk, otherwise she might fall down due to the fact that she is so weak.

The driver sets the bags in the doorway and excuses himself.  Beth stops at the stairs and takes her shoes off and sits on the stairs.  "I can't make it up those stairs Jon."

"That's okay, I'll carry you up.  Do you want anything while we're down here?"

She shakes her head no.

"Okay."  He bends over and picks her up and carries her up to the master bedroom and lays her on the bed.  "Hang on, I'll get you your jamma's."

"Will you get me a pair of winter ones.  They are in the third drawer down in the closet."

"Want your robe too?"

"No.  Just my jammie's."  She sits up on the bed, and starts to get undressed.  Her shirt, she throws it on the floor, and she struggles with the bra.  Jon comes back and sees that she's having trouble, so he reaches over and in one quick snap, the bra is undone.  She pulls her jammy shirt on and Jon helps her with the bottoms.  He gets her into bed and covers her up.

"Are you warm enough?"

"Can you get the throw over there, I'm shivering." she asks him.  And he is more than happy to help her in any way that he can.  He gets the fleece throw that she keeps on the chair in their bedroom.  She often takes it outside on the patio with her in the morning, while she has a cup of coffee.

"Are you hungry?"

""Yes, but I'm not going to eat.  It will upset my stomach."

Jon is feeling very helpless, and he hates that he can't make her feel better.  When she is hurt or sick, he is lost.  She's his strength and without her, he hopes he can pull it all together.  The kids need to come home and get to school tomorrow.

"I gotta call Dot and let her know that you have what looks like the flu."  he reaches into his bag and grabs his cell phone.  Dialing his soon to be ex wife he quickly tells her what's going on and he ends the conversation with, "Please tell them we're home and we love them.  I'll pick them up from school tomorrow.  Okay.  Bye." and he ends the call.

He walks over to her and sits next to her on the bed.  She looks worse than when he got her upstairs, and now he's really starting to worry.  "What can I do?  Do you want Tylenol for the fever?"

She shakes her head again and tells him, "It will break, I'll sweat it out, don't worry.  Are the kids are okay?"

Reaching up and brushing some hair off of her face, he tells her that they are staying with Dot and he will pick them up after school.  Beth misses the kids, but she's glad that they wont be home tonight.  She feels like death and she doesn't want them to see her in this condition.

"Will you lay with me until I fall asleep?  I'm pretty tired."

Without even answering, he moves into position so he can spoon her until she falls asleep.  With the exception of being inside of her, spooning her was his favorite place to be.  He needed her in his arms, in his life and she has all of his heart.  He lays with her and rubs her arm and after a while, she falls asleep.

When he's sure that she's sound asleep he gently gets out of bed and grabs his cell phone.  He's headed downstairs to take care of their bags and grab a bite to eat.  All of their dirty laundry is in the laundry room, he decided he will wash it tomorrow.   He detours into the kitchen and grabs a snack.  A granola bar, a bag of peanuts and a bottle of Evian.  With his camera and his snack he walks through the house, on his way to his office.

He takes the memory card out of his camera and slides in into the slot on his computer.  As the images upload he eats his goodies and checks his email.  Nothing really important so he closed out of his email. The light was flashing on his office answering machine, so he takes a minute and listens to his message.  Between taking notes about his calls and eating his peanuts, he didn't notice the pictures that were uploaded.

When the upload was done, he clicked through them one by one, inspecting his shots. The ones of Beth almost took his breath away.  He's never seen a woman in blue jeans and a hoodie look so beautiful and so happy.  He sees in these images that she is the one for him.  Printing them as he goes through them, he stumbles upon one of Beth that he didn't take. His jaw drops. It was Beth in her matching bra and panties with the words I Love You written in lipstick across her belly.  It was a selfie, but she didn't photograph her own face.  He's shocked.  Along with the others he had printed, he added this one to the queue and couldn't wait to see it.  His first thought was quick change, like Beth had said, but he would never do that to her.  He'll add it to his day planner that he carries and he will look at it often.

Jon finishes up with the things he wanted to do in his office.  As he got up, he glanced at the calendar on the wall.  It had pictures of the kids on it, a gift from his mother, but on the date October 15th, there is a big black X.  He just kind of shakes his head and has a sad expression on his face.  The days are flying by and he doesn't want to leave.

Back upstairs in the master bedroom, he notices the time.  It's 9:15 and he sees that Beth hasn't even moved.  He set his water and his phone down on his bedside table and sits next to her on the bed.  The movement didn't wake her up, and neither did he, when he felt her forehead and noticed that she was covered with sweat.  Brushing some bangs back off of her face he says, "Hey babe?"  And he gets nothing.  He leans over and kisses the corner of her eye and whispers, "Hey, Beth."  Still nothing.  He kisses her again, on the corner of her eye again and then on her cheek.  "Babe, wake up"  He whispers into her ear.  He waits a second and finally sees a smile on her face.  "How ya feeling?" he softly asks her.

Opening her eyes and looking at him, she smiles and says, "I feel a little better.  What have you been doing?"

"Worrying about you." he replies.

She rolls over onto her back, yawning, she lays a hand on Jon's leg.  "Really, what have you been doing all this time?"

"I puttered in the office and started our laundry.  Can I get you anything?" he again, moves in and kisses her on the lips.

She shakes her head no, "I don't want you to catch whatever this is.  No kisses."

He laughs at her, "As much sex as we had last night, do you really think that I'll catch it today?"

Slapping him on the leg she tells him, "Don't make fun of me.  I don't feel good." And she laughs at herself.

"I was covered in your saliva from head to toe last night, so if you have cooties, so do I."  leaning over to kiss her, he takes her face in his hand and just licks her lips.

"Oh Jon, stop." she whines "You don't need to get sick." she wipes the saliva off of her lips and rubs it on his pants.

Laughing at her, he asks, "Do you want something to eat to drink?  You haven't had anything all day."

She just shakes her head no.  Forgetting that Jon called Dorothea when they got home, Beth asks, "What are the kids doing?"

"They are still with Dot, remember?" he tells her, with a look of question on his face.

"No, remember what?"

"She is keeping them and taking them to school in the morning."

"That's nice of her."  Beth says with little to no affect.  She doesn't remember the conversation but she figures that it's best that they weren't home right now anyway.  "Do they come home after school then?"

"Yeah, we can get them or if you're not feeling any better, I can have Pete grab them."

Beth lays there and looks at him, with the purest of love in her heart.  She smiles and tells him, "Thank you for being so good to me."

"What do you want to eat, woman?  You really need something.  How about some soup?" he asks her, taking his finger and running it down the bridge of her nose.  He looks at her and he swears his heart skips a beat.  Every time he looks at her, he sees something new that's adorable and sexy.  He is in love with the few freckles that she has on her nose and cheeks.  He's told her that a blonde with freckles has always been a weakness of his.

Beth does a mental body check and decides that she isn't ready for food.  Her stomach is still upset and the retching makes her feel worse.  "I don't think I'm ready just yet."  she rubs her belly, wincing a little because it hurt.

"How about a little bit of water?"

"No."

"Babe, you need something."

She pushes the covers back, as she suddenly feels like she is on fire.  "I'm hot, move."
Jon scoots down toward the foot of the bed and gives Beth her space.  He's had a fever before and knows what it's like when a fever breaks.  Beth sits up and unbuttons the top two buttons on her pajama shirt.  She knows that she looks like an old hen in her winter pajama's, but she didn't care.  She was cold when they went on and they did the trick.  Jon gets up and goes into the bathroom to get her a glass of water.  Walking back with it, he sees that she is already laying back down and bundled to her chin with blankets.  "I'm freezing."

Setting her water down on her nightstand, he stands before her and strips his clothes off.  With his clothes on the floor, he steps over her on the bed, pulls down the blankets and moves in as close to her and he can get.  With her in his arms, he slowly relaxes and is able to help her feel a little better.  Beth needed to feel him with her; next to her, she always felt better when he was within reach.  He can feel that she is burning up and knows that when its the flu - fevers will come and they will go.  As long as he could, he was going to lay there with her, holding her tight and letting her know that he loves her, always.
