Water Ch. 225 - Blow Out The Candles On The Cake

It all played out in the headlines, just like Beth knew that it would.  When she pulled out of the New Jersey driveway that spring afternoon, she swore she would never go back.

Months later, Beth is in her office working some investments and she had the TV on for noise.  Unaware of the time, she hears a reporter say;

We originally reported back in March: Jon Bon Jovi and longtime girlfriend Beth Adams have split.  It's rumored that Jon Bon Jovi had an affair, with a hired photographer that produced a love child and apparently that was more than what Beth was willing to accept.  Sources tell us that Beth Adams has moved back to Malibu and is currently dating entrepreneur Dalton Patterson, better know for his charitable works in the Los Angeles area.  Recently, we have contacted the Bon Jovi camp and we were able to get confirmation that there was in fact, no child born from Jon's indiscretion.

Last night our team reporter caught up with Beth Adams at the Summer Gala in Los Angeles and we asked her what she thought of the fact that Jon did not have a child with his one night stand.  Beth stops dead in her tracks, with Jon being a sore subject still, she answers the reporters question with a simple, "I have no comment."  And she walked away with Dalton, arm in arm.

The reporter was left to stand there feeling and little silly.  Did he really think that Beth would talk about something that happened months ago?  And did he really think that she would talk to him about Jon Bon Jovi?  Seeing herself on the TV, Beth prepares herself for the impending phone calls and emails that were sure to follow.

Beth has made it a habit to not talk about Jon or the life that they once shared.  Not only was it too painful, it was special.  She feels that if she talks about what happened and what she walked away from it would cheapen it and she didn't want that.  She still has pictures of the kids on her desk and she has no intention of removing them.  Her heart is still with the children and she is fortunate enough to still have a relationship with them.  It's a thin relationship, but it was all she had and she loved it.  She would get emails and pictures from Stephanie.  From time to time Jesse would call her, and of course she asked and was given updates on the little guys.

Two weeks ago, Dorothea was in Los Angeles with the kids and Beth was able to see them for a few minutes.  It was what Beth called Dorothea's white flag, when she told Dalton about the call.

Dorothea had called Beth and they talked for a few minutes.  Beth wasn't a fountain of information, but she made sure that Dot knew she was happy and over Jon.  "I'll be in town with the kids for Ava's birthday party, would you like to see the kids for a little bit?  I know they would love to see you."  Dorothea asks Beth, once Beth lets her guard down and let's Dot talk.

"Dorothea, you know I would love that.  And you know that would piss Jon off." Beth answers her, honestly.  Beth aches to see the kids and this offer was one that she won't pass up.

"Jon is in Europe.  Who cares if it pisses him off." Dot responds.  "They miss you and we'll be in the area."

"I would love that.  When and where?"  Beth asks quite eager.  She will meet them anywhere and anytime.

"We land tomorrow night, Ava's party is Saturday at 1:00.  Do you want to meet us at Heather's?"

Beth has remained friendly with the band members and their family.  There wasn't a lot of contact, as Beth thought that maybe they were feeling like they were dividing loyalty, but her and Heather remained close.  Heather introduced Beth and Dalton.

"I can do that.  I planned on stopping by and dropping off a gift for Ava."

"Okay, we'll see you Saturday."  Dorothea sounded like she was happy about it.

With a forced smile, hoping to hide her suspicion Beth says, "Thank you Dorothea.  I'll see you on Saturday."

When Beth hangs up the phone, she looks to Dalton and says "That was really weird."

"Do you think that's a good idea, Beth?"  he asks her, wanting her to know that he's not going to stop her but he didn't think it was a good idea.

"I do think it's a good idea.  I want to see the kids and they want to see me." she explains to him, knowing it makes perfect sense to her.

Dalton just gives her a crooked smile and shakes his head.

The visit was great and they all had fun for the short time that Beth was at Ava's party.  Beth thinks the only one that was uncomfortable may have been Dot, watching the relationship that the kids did have with Beth play out in front of her.

Sitting at her desk, running the newscast she just heard through her mind with the visit that she had a couple of weeks ago with the kids, Beth couldn't help but smile.  She is very happy that Jon's affair with Melissa didn't produce a child and she's happy that she seen that the kids are adjusting to her being gone.  It was obvious that Dorothea has her mental health back and has become a very important figure in her kids lives again.  It's nice that she is able to be a mother again.  Beth was feeling a sense of peace but couldn't help but question why Jon Bon Jovi is in the news.

In the Yahoo search bar, she typed in his name and is floored by what the headline reads.  Jon Bon Jovi moves from Middletown home into Mid-Town Manhattan loft.  Beth reads it twice to make sure that she read it right.  Clicking on the link, it opens an article from the New York Times telling of Jon's move from NY to NJ and states that the reasons are personal.  The article adds in that he and his wife have not reconciled and she is still living in their SoHo apartment.  Beth is puzzled, the date of the article was the day before yesterday.  Maybe he moved in with Melissa?  She cannot figure out what might be going on and she knows that she can't worry about it.

  1. In my opinion I think Beth walking out on Jon the way she did was wrong. For someone who claimed to be so deeply in love with him I don't understand how she can be in another relationship so soon.
    I still don't trust Dorothea.

  2. I don't think he moved in with Melissa. I'll give you odds that's it's Dorothea!

  3. first of all you should know better than to see children again from a past relationship! how confusing for them. if she is no longer with Jon she needs to nove on & quit worrying about what he is up to but obviously she is still interested. if that is the case she was a fool to run out & leave without trying to work it out, she may not realize it but she is no different than Jon right now, running into another mans arms.
