Water Ch. 236 - Pretzel Man's Wearing Gucci Glasses

They guys landed and were shuttled from the airport as fast as the drivers could get them to the hotel.

Bon Jovi is ending their last leg of the tour in Europe and they all want it to be over so they can go home and rest.  Months and months on the road are hard on the guys and this tour was a little tougher for all of them.  Their personal lives, whether going good or bad, needed their attention, and they couldn't do it being on tour.  All are exhausted, but will give the fans at the next 10 shows, the show of their lives.  That is what Bon Jovi does.

In his room, finally alone, Jon sits on the edge of the bed and takes a deep breath.  He hasn't been alone since he woke up in Beth's bedroom in New York City.  There isn't anything that he wants to do or has to do, he just needed a few minutes to himself.  His thoughts are all over the place and his heart is in one - why can't he get her out of his mind?  She did exactly what he wanted, they can't be together; he said.  They can't be friends; he said.  But he can't get the thought of her meeting Dalton in paradise out of his mind.

He gets up and paces, the room isn't that big, his paces are small. When the pacing doesn't help, he does the only thing that he knows is going to help.  Grabbing his baseball cap and Ray Bans from his bag, he takes off out the door.  Once he's on the street, he puts on his disguise and walks down toward the ocean.

It's early morning so there aren't many people out yet, he starts his daily jog up the beach toward town.  He can feel the stress lessen with each step that he takes and when he gets to the middle of town, he stops and gets a cup of coffee.  His disguise is working well and he is enjoying sitting in the town square drinking his coffee alone.

After a while he gets up and goes back to his hotel, he knows that he needs to get a little rest and sound check was mid afternoon.  The day was going to fly by, and he's glad that he's going to be busy.  Quick shower and he lays down in the bed and much to his surprise, he fades off to sleep.

The loud bang on the door wakes him up, "Jon!  Get your ass out of bed man!"  He could hear Richie through the door.

"Hang on a god damn minute" he manages to get out of bed and answer the door.  "What the hell?"  he barks at Richie.

"Dude, we have to go do sound check.  Get ready."

Jon looks at the clock.  It was 3:30, he slept the afternoon away.  "OK, I'll be ready in a minute."

"Meet you downstairs, hurry up." Richie tells him as he leaves Jon's hotel room.

Jon runs a toothbrush over his teeth, rinses with mouth wash, applies fresh deodorant and runs his fingers through his hair.  Satisfied with his disheveled appearance, he throws on some jeans and a t-shirt.  Snatching his hat off the bed, he sees that he's missed a phone call.  His cell phone was on the bed next to him the whole time, and he never heard it ring.  It was his mom that had called.  He'll call her after sound check.

One more sound check down and only 9 more to go.  They guys can see the light at the end of a very long tunnel and each are counting the days.  Tonight's show will be epic.

The guys could see that Jon was in a mood, so the sooner they could get through sound check, the better they all will be.  David, being the joker of the bunch, noticed Jon's mood and thought better than to be a jokster.  They ran through Wild Is The Wind, Living In Sin and Livin' On A Prayer.  Jon was happy with the sound, so he waved them all off and he left.  He needed to go call his mom, plus he knows that the guys will ask what's up and he didn't want to talk about it.

  2. Who's running away now, Jon? Your brothers are worried about you so after you finish the phone call to your mom grab the guys and go somewhere and talk.
