Water Ch. 13 - I Got The Girl

(Circa 2005) Beth can hardly believe that she was right there, front and center.  Talk about the show of a lifetime.  She was overwhelmed by his showmanship and he made sure she knew he was singing to her.  Seeing the band in action this close up, she knew they were a band of brothers.  They connected in a way that she'd not witnessed before and she loved it.  She was able to pick up on the cues that Jon was giving to the guys and those cues made that show run like clock work.  The timing on everything was perfect and she was now a forever Bon Jovi fan.

Half way through the show Justin walks up to her and politely says, "Follow me please."  Beth wasn't shocked or even apprehensive this time, for she knew she was going back stage.  As she rounded the stage, the lights went off and the music stopped.  Justin has a flashlight and guides her into Jon's quick chance area.  Just as she walks in on the backstage side, Jon comes down off the stage.  The whole night was timed, just perfect.  Justin leaves and waits at his station while Jon gets his hair dried and changes a shirt.  He has roughly 5 minutes before Richie is finished singing I'll Be There For You.
"Are you having a good time?, Jon asks Beth looking through the towel that's towel drying his hair.  Beth really can't describe the fun she is having, it's unlike anything she has ever done before.  She has never thought to do front row seat at a concert.  She loves music and attends many concert, but she like to keep an eye on her finances.  And she can imagine that the seat she is in was quite expensive.
"I am having a great time, thank you so much for the invitation.  The crowd LOVES you!" she says with that puppy love look in her eye.  She is loving the show and watching that man do his thing on stage.  Course the backstage show isn't bad either.  Watching him quick change is probably the sexiest thing she has ever seen.  He takes his long sleeve, sweat soaked shirt off and fans himself for a minute.   Beth can really do nothing other than sit there and look.  And she likes what she sees.  The Superman tattoo really catches her eye, glistening with sweat.  Jon finishes with his quick cool down, takes a few sips of his herbal tea and put a plain red t-shirt on and says, "I guess I should get back to work.  Do you want to stay back here, or go back to your seat?  Either way, it's up to you."

Beth got up and said, "I'll go back to my seat, there's quite the view from up there."

Jon pulls back the curtain and says, "Hey Justin, can you take her back to her seat please?  Make sure she gets something to drink too."  Justin with flashlight in hand, holds back the curtain so Beth can get out.  He asks her along the way what she would like to drink and she just wanted water.   She gets back to her seat just as the music stops and the lights go down.  All you can hear is screaming people.  A few moments later Justin is back with a bottle of water, hands it to Beth and puts his back to a the stage.  He was in his position.

Suddenly you hear a repetitive stomp on the stage and Jon says, "We gotta hold on.........to what we got", lights go up and the crowd goes CRAZY!!  Beth is tingly with chills and she can't believe she hasn't been this close at a Bon Jovi show before.  She was in awe.  She wanted more.  She stood there, surrounded by women that wanted those men on the stage in anyway they can get them.  And she just come out of a quick change room with the front man.  After Livin' On A Prayer, the band slowed down and Vegas got it's first taste of the free spirited Jon and they loved it.  Beth loved it.

After an exhilarating 3 hours of rock and roll, Beth is exhausted - she can only imagine how Jon feels and the rest of the guys.  Bon Jovi does their 'National Anthem' and the show is over.  The bands take a bow, and Jon is right in front of Beth.  They make eye contact and he makes a motion with his head, meaning meet me in back.  He steps up and taps Justin on the shoulder to get his attention and motions for Justin to get Beth and bring her back, backstage.

The band walks off, the lights are on and people are filtering out of the arena.  Justin, needing to get Beth back to Jon, had to maneuver around the roadies that were already taking stuff down, arena staff that was already breaking down chairs and around the fans that just wouldn't leave.  The ones that hoped they might get a glimpse of one of the band members.  Justin was a professional, he got her through all the mess without incident and took her back to Jon's dressing room.  When they got there, Justin removed a key from his pocket and unlocked the door.  Beth found that odd, how did he know it was locked?  He didn't even check, didn't even know - just got the key out and opened the door.

He let Beth in and said, "Have a seat ma'am, Mr. Bon Jovi will be with you in just a moment." and he exits the room, making sure the door is closed and locked behind him.  There are women trying very hard to get down that hallway, even close to his door - and the big burly staff will never let that happen.
Beth is sitting there waiting for Jon, she had no idea where he was.  But she thought she heard a shower running somewhere in the distance.  Patiently she sat there, eventually grabbing the magazine off the table and thumbed through it.

"BETH?", she hears and it scared the hell out of her.

"Yes?", she replies.

"I'll be out in a minute, I just needed a quick rinse."  Jon tells her from the bathroom.

"Ok, I'm right here."

After a few minutes, he  pops out dressed and ready to go. And she can smell him, he smells amazing.   He checks his pockets and makes sure that he has everything he needs and away they go.  He has an evening planned for them and he wants nothing to go wrong.

It will be a night that Beth will remember for the rest of her life.
