Water Ch. 33 - Bitter Wine 2005

2005
Beth sat on her patio and finished her glass of wine.  She was thinking to her self that she doesn't know if she could handle a long distance relationship.  Tapping her fingers on the table, she thinks Los Angeles to New York is a long distance, but Los Angeles to the rest of the world is even longer.  Running her fingers through her hair and feeling like she has just travelled, she decides she needed a hot bath.  Her body feels like it has been worshiped like a temple all weekend.  She can't remember when the last time was that every muscle in her body ached.  Muscles she hasn't used in a while.  Hell, she can barely remember the last time she had sex.  She gets up and refills her wine glass and heads towards the bathroom.  She stops and looks at herself in the bathroom mirror, noticing that she got some sun over he weekend, her nose and cheeks were pink.  Ske also noticed that she looks tired.  She says to herself, bath and bed.  That's all she needed.

She ran the water and added some exotic bath salt that's supposed to help with muscle fatigue, she uses it after she goes running.  It helps for that, it should help with sex fatigue, she thought?  Getting in and easing herself into the water that is just on the border of being too hot, she leans back and closes her eyes.  Total relaxation.  She takes in the aroma of the bath salt and and relives the weekend in her mind.  Sipping wine in a hot bath sounds like the best way to end an unbelievable weekend, with one exception.  He is in New York, if he were here, it would be the best way to end a weekend.

Jon takes care of his road clothes and other stuff and heads to the kitchen.  He's a little hungry and a little thirsty.  Opening the fridge and seeing it almost empty tells him that no one has been here in a while.  He looked for a snack and settled on some cheese and a sliced apple.  He didn't know if he had any wine, there wasn't any open in the fridge, so he went to the wine cooler.  He did have one bottle of his favorite Pinot left.  He makes a mental note - Get more Pinot!!

Popping the cork and pouring his wine into his ice filled glass, he had a similar thought to Beth's.  A glass of wine and no one home, what a great way to end a great weekend.  With one exception.  She was in Los Angeles.

Two people that wanted to be together, that had obstacles to overcome, were both in the same  moment, drinking Bitter Wine.
