Water Ch. 18 - In And Out Of Love 2011

Jon takes Romeo to his car, and the boys settle in for the long ride back to New Jersey.  Romeo has his DS, with plenty of games and Jon has his music and his thoughts.  Very little is said, until Jon gets up the nerve to ask Romeo a question he thought the would never ask any of his children.

"Romy, how would you feel if me and your mom didn't live together anymore?" he manages to get the words out, and he really surprised him self.

"Would that mean we have 2 homes?"  Not realizing that he has three already.  Jon shakes his head and says, "Yes, that means you would have 2 homes."  Romeo is quiet for a minute and then he asks his dad, "Does that mean I get two Christmas's and two birthday's?", totally not grasping what Jon is telling him.

But would it be so different than what the kids live now?  Jon is always gone and when he was with Beth, he was gone a little bit more.  But he also had the kids more.  They always wanted to see their dad when he was with Beth.  Beth was so much more fun than their mom.  Beth was a little younger and didn't have to discipline them, so of course they liked her.  The older children liked her, specially Stephanie because they had alot in common.  They shopped together and did girl stuff, more so when they were on the road with Jon, as opposed to being in Malibu.  Or in New York.

Stephanie didn't like the Red Bank house, and for a while she would only go there when Beth was there with Jon. Stephanie and Beth remained in contact until just recently. Steph went off to school and Beth dove into her career. They would exchange cards and texts but they haven't seen one another in about 6 months. Stephanie went out to Malibu to test for a pilot and realized that acting wasn't her thing. While in town she stayed with Beth and they had a couple of late nights. Stephanie was one that loves to talk, and she really enjoys talking with Beth. Beth gets her.

Stephanie had confided in her friend, Beth, that her mom was having an affair with one of the karate instructors that used to work at Dorothea's dojo. The affair went on for quite sometime. Stephanie hates the guy and her and her mother fought about him constantly. The affair had evolved at one time to where Paul was living above the garage. That infuriated Stephanie and when she couldn't keep the secret anymore, she told her dad. Paul and Dorothea have been having this affair for over three years and it's going to end badly when it does end. IF it ends.  Dorothea liked the attention that she got from Paul.  Paul treated her like a queen, like Jon used to.  But Jon was now saving his royalty treatment for someone else.

Dorothea is not victimless in this war she is at with Jon, in fact, once Jon was done with the rock and roll oats sowing, he was devoted and faithful. And Dot didn't believe it. An affair she started out of revenge ended up being a relationship. At that point, Jon stopped caring. How many more times could they do it to one another? Isn't happiness most important or is winning?

Jon encouraged the kids to accept Beth as one of the family, but never forced her on them.  HE wanted them to accept her only in the aspect that she wasn't going anywhere - he loved her and wanted her in his life always! And all 4 kids loved her. All of his family and friends loved her too. How can he get her back?

Dorothea burned the bridges with the Bongiovi clan when she would have her kids lie to anyone of their kin. If Dot was out with Paul they would be instructed to tell them they either didn't know who she was she was with a girlfriend. You can't come back from lying to a Bongiovi. Once the trust is gone, you're gone.  Jon tried to forgive her, they even went to counseling and to their priest, but Dorothea couldn't stop. She had to keep seeing Paul and when Paul dumps her because he is sick of all of her baggage, maybe she will see her ways and see that Jon is not solely to blame for the strain on their relationship.

Lately Dorothea has tried to reconcile with Jon, but he won't live with an alcoholic that refuses to face her sickness and get help. He won't be with a woman that lies and continually cheats and he won't be with anyone that uses the children like she does. He just won't!

Jon and Romeo are almost back to Red Bank and Romeo tells his dad that he's hungry. His dad says, "We're almost home. Let's see who's there and we can plan dinner. Maybe we can go have some of grandmas spaghetti?

  1. Romeo is so sweet. Lol, what kid wouldn't want two birthdays or to have two christmases?
Still waiting to see how Beth was brought into the Bongiovi fold.
When will couples learn that just because your partner cheats doesn't make it right for them to do it as well. Especially when there are children involved.
